Sanctuary Wealth Names Marissa Fox-Foley as New CMO

Marissa Fox-Foley, former chief marketing and communications officer at Choreo, has joined Sanctuary Wealth, the Indianapolis-based partnership of independent registered investment advisors, as CMO. In the new role, she’ll lead the firm’s enterprise marketing strategy and organization.

Fox-Foley has been tasked with elevating Sanctuary’s corporate marketing capabilities and bringing scalable marketing strategies to its partner firms.

“Sanctuary has built a differentiated platform anchored by exceptional advisors, high standards and a culture of consistent execution,” Fox-Foley said in a statement. “I look forward to partnering with our leadership team and partner firms to elevate how they show up in their markets, strengthening digital experiences, deepening engagement with clients and prospects and translating momentum into sustained, enterprise-level growth.”

Fox-Foley spent the last four years in a similar role at Choreo, where she helped lead the firm’s launch as an independent RIA.

Prior to that, she was chief marketing and strategy officer for a division of Mass General Brigham, the largest private healthcare employer in Massachusetts. For about five years, she served as head of corporate and brand marketing for Cetera Financial Group. Prior to Cetera, she served as executive vice president of advisor marketing at LPL.

“Marissa brings a combination of strategic vision, operational rigor and hands-on experience building enterprise-grade marketing organizations,” Sanctuary CEO Adam Malamed said in a statement. “She understands how to translate brand, technology and data into growth outcomes that will help partner firms tell their story more powerfully, win new relationships and deepen trust with existing clients.”

In 2024, Sanctuary rolled out an internal marketing initiative focused on expanding partners’ presence online and supporting their “digital agility,” Malamed said at the time. Advisors can receive help with search engine optimization, digital branding, social media connectivity, online testimonials and direct target marketing.

Sanctuary acts as a hybrid RIA, with more than 125 partner firms in 32 states on the platform (totaling over $55 billion in assets either on its platform or in transition). The firm has backing from the Italy-based asset manager Azimut and Kennedy Lewis Investment Management.
