The Role:

The Business Development Manager role is responsible for recruiting unique brands. Building out the Liquid Opportunity’s portfolio with brands that create a diverse and strong portfolio is critical to the position. Liquid Opportunities represents all beverage segments and is looking for a Business Development Manager that is well versed in all beverage segments. Understanding where to “hunt” for the business opportunities is a critical skill requirement. Trade shows, flavor houses, co-packers, award shows, marketing companies, social media, industry podcasts, and all potential lead sources must be considered. The role requires a person that understands product development processes and knowledge of the sales processes for the various industries. Knowledge of the alcohol industry sales process is specifically required for this position.

Duties/Responsibilities:

•     Create Lead Generation process and control log.

•     Coordinate and schedule calls with prospective clients.

•     Conduct regular meetings with the LO leadership team to discuss potential clients and review potential nclients that are close to signing.

•     Participate in creating pricing models for services with the LO leadership team.

•     Participate in creating client agreement templates for the assorted services – product development and sales representation.

•     Create a calendar of events and trade shows to be attended.

•     Continuous networking to broaden the reach of potential clients.

•     Work with sales team and leadership to assist with closing potential clients.

•     Schedule onboarding meetings for new clients with the entire Liquid Opportunity team.

•     Participate in client calls when required by the sales team.

Required Skills/Abilities:

•     Complete knowledge of Liquid Opportunities portfolio of brands so that you are recruiting brands that fill gaps in the portfolio.

•     Thorough understanding of alcohol laws and regulatory requirements.

•     Complete understanding of the services that LO provides.

o  Brand valuation guidance

o  Regulatory guidance

o  Inventory control guidance.

•     Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience

•     5 years of industry related sales experience within the distribution or beverage industry.

•     Skilled in securing and onboarding new customers.

•     Knowledgeable in sales, marketing, and nationwide distribution

·     Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Preferred Qualifications

•     Comprehensive understanding of the co-packer, supplier, distributor, and brand owner network.

•     Key relationships within the beverage alcohol industry.

•     Strong negotiation skills.

•     Goal oriented, focused, and assertive individual – self-starter.

Pay:

·     The position will start as a General Contractor position and will transition to an employment role upon completion by LO of converting to the payroll model. This conversion is expected to occur by the middle of 2025.

·     Base salary and commission of 5% on all monthly fees directly attributable to clients signed by you.

·     Base salary will be dependent upon level of experience and knowledge.

·     Benefits – health and 401K will be available upon completion of conversion to the payroll model.
