New Organizational Reforms and Personnel Changes at Yamaha Motor – News releases
IWATA, December 23, 2025 – At today’s Board of Directors Meeting, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. (Tokyo: 7272) resolved to implement the following organizational reforms and personnel changes, effective January 1, 2026.
■ Organizational Reforms (effective January 1, 2026)
1. Brand Section
To strengthen branding functions both internally and externally on a global scale, a new Brand Section will be established directly under the President.
– Within the Brand Section, a Brand Strategy Division and a Brand Promotion Division will be newly established, and the Corporate Communication Division of the Corporate Planning & Finance Center will be transferred into this division.
– The branding strategy functions currently overseen by the Brand Marketing Division of the Creative Center will be transferred to the Brand Strategy Division.
– The branding execution functions previously overseen by the Brand Marketing Division of the Creative Center and the Corporate Communication Division of the Corporate Planning & Finance Center will be transferred to the Brand Promotion Division.
– As a result of these changes, the Brand Marketing Division within the Creative Center will be dissolved.
– The Corporate Communication Division within the Brand Section will be responsible for public relations (PR) as well as IR/SR (Investor Relations / Sustainability Reporting) functions.
2. Corporate Strategy Center
– The Digital Strategy Division within the Corporate Strategy Center will be renamed the DX Strategy Division. The execution functions for promoting data utilization, as well as advanced technology development functions in the IT domain, will be transferred to the IT Center.
– The DX Strategy Division within the Corporate Strategy Center will be responsible for company-wide Digital Transformation (DX) strategy formulation and promotion.
[New Business Development Section]
– To expand the industrial unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) business, an Aero Solutions Division will be newly established within the New Business Development Section, and the Unmanned System Business Development Section of the Solution Business Operations will be transferred to this new department.
– The SFV business promotion functions of the Co-creation・New Business Development Division within the Technical Research & Development Center will be transferred to the General Planning Division of the New Business Development Section.
3. Corporate Planning & Finance Center
– The Corporate Governance Division of the Corporate Planning & Finance Center will be transferred to the Corporate Strategy Center.
– The Corporate Communication Division of the Corporate Planning & Finance Center will be transferred to the Brand Section.
4. IT Center
The IT Center will be reorganised to clarify roles and responsibilities and to accelerate operations between the DX Strategy Division of the Corporate Governance Division and the IT Center.
– The planning functions of the Process & IT Division will be transferred to directly under the IT Center.
– A Data-driven Business Transformation Division will be newly established, and the execution functions for promoting data utilization previously overseen by the Process & IT Division of the IT Center and the Digital Strategy Division of the Corporate Strategy Center will be transferred to this new division.
– An Enterprise Architecture Platform Division will be newly established, and the core systems and business process reform promotion functions of the Process & IT Division, as well as the advanced IT technology development functions of the Digital Strategy Division of the Corporate Strategy Center, will be transferred to this division.
– As a result of these changes, the Process & IT Division within the IT Center will be dissolved.
5. Technology, Research & Design Center
In order to create innovation through technology and design, and to strengthen collaboration across the company and with each business unit, all functions of the Creative Center other than branding will be integrated into the Technical Research & Development Center, and a new Technology, Research & Design Center will be established.
– The Product Design Division of the Creative Center will be transferred to the Technology, Research & Design Center.
– A Technology and Design Integration Strategy Division will be newly established, and all functions of the Technology Strategy Division of the Technical Research & Development Center and the Planning Design Division of the Creative Center, as well as the co-creation functions of the Co-creation・New Business Development Division of the Technical Research & Development Center, will be transferred to this new division.
– The Co-creation・New Business Development Division will be renamed the New Business Development Division.
– Following the transfer of functions from the Brand Marketing Division, Product Design Division, and Planning Design Division of the Creative Center, the Creative Center will be dissolved through an evolutionary reorganization.
6. Manufacturing Center
To centrally and efficiently manage casting equipment introduction activities related to production preparation and rationalization operations within the Manufacturing Center, and to accelerate decision-making, the PT Aluminum Components Engineering Division will be reorganized.
– The casting equipment functions of the Machinery R&D Division of the Manufacturing Technology Center will be transferred to the PT Aluminum Components Engineering Division of the Manufacturing Center.
7. Manufacturing Technology Center
To strengthen DX technology development functions and align departmental naming, the Machinery R&D Division will be reorganized.
– The Machinery R&D Division of the Manufacturing Technology Center will be renamed the Monozukuri DX Technology Division.
8. Procurement Center
[Strategy Planning Section]
– In order to strengthen human resources strategies, the HR and talent development functions of the Procurement Center, currently overseen by the Procurement Strategy Planning Division, will be transferred to report directly under the Strategy Planning Section.
– To promote theoretical-cost-based procurement in a more strategic and global manner, a Theoretical Value Procurement Promotion Division will be newly established within the Strategy Planning Section.
– To strengthen global strategy and execution functions within the Procurement Center, the Procurement Engineering Division of the Procurement Section will be transferred to the Strategy Planning Section.
[Procurement Section]
– To address increasing BCP (Business Continuity Plan) risks on a cross-business basis and contribute to stable procurement across each business, a Procurement Operation Division will be newly established. The domestic and overseas procurement functions currently overseen by the Procurement Promotion Division and the Mori-machi Procurement Division will be transferred to this new department.
– In response to the expansion of business domains under the jurisdiction of the Procurement Center, and in order to improve supplier quality and accelerate decision-making, the Procurement Quality Division will be split, and two new departments – the Procurement Quality Enhancement Division and the Procurement Quality Strategy Division – will be established.
– The supplier quality enhancement functions of the Procurement Quality Division will be transferred to the Procurement Quality Enhancement Division, and the quality strategy functions of the Procurement Quality Division will be transferred to the Procurement Quality Strategy Division.
9. Mobility Development Center
To clearly define the overall governance function for mobility development-centered on motorcycles-and to strengthen the function for developing a comprehensive mobility development strategy, a new Mobility Development Center will be established.
– The existing functions of the Land Mobility Powertrain Development Center will be transferred to the Mobility Development Center and renamed the Powertrain Development Unit.
– The existing functions of the Mobility System Development Center will be transferred to the Mobility Development Center and renamed the Mobility System Development Unit.
– The existing functions of the Motorcycle Development Center will be transferred to the Mobility Development Center and renamed the Motorcycle Development Unit.
≪Motorcycle Development Unit≫
[Motor Sports Section]
– The Motor Sports Strategy Division of the Motor Sports Section within the Motorcycle Development Center will be renamed the Motor Sports Value Creation Division, and the motor sports planning and management functions currently overseen by the Motor Sports Development Division of the same area will be transferred to this division.
[Motorcycle Development Section]
– To ensure appropriate human resource management and efficient organizational operations, a new Off-road Vehicle Development Division will be established, and the Off-road design functions will be transferred from the Sports Vehicle Development Division.
10. Marine Business Operations
[Development Section]
To clarify roles and functions, the WV/Overseas Boat Development Division will be reorganized.
– The WV/Overseas Boat Development Division will be renamed the WV Development Division.
[Planning Section]
To strengthen coordination between business strategies and SCM (Supply Chain Management) strategy, and to promote DX implementation, the Planning Section will be reorganized.
– The developed-market base management functions of the Marketing Division under the Marketing Section will be transferred to the Business Planning Division of the Planning Section.
– The Digital Transformation Division of the Marketing Section will be transferred to the Planning Section.
– The supply and demand management functions of the Marketing Division under the Marketing Section will be transferred to the Digital Transformation Division of the Planning Section.
[Japan Business Section]
To strengthen the competitiveness of the domestic marine business, improve operational efficiency, and clarify functions, the Japan Business Section will be reorganized.
– The Boat Manufacturing Division will be transferred to Yamaha Marine Co., Ltd. and dissolved.
– A portion of the marketing functions and the planning functions of the Domestic Sales Division will be transferred to report directly under the Japan Business Section.
11. Solution Business Operations
To achieve the medium- to long-term goals of the robotics business, and to strengthen strategic execution, progress management, and governance, the Solutions Business Operations will be reorganized.
– A new Business Strategy Division will be established directly under the Solutions Business Operations, consolidating the business planning functions of the SMT, FA, and SEMI businesses, as well as export control functions.
– A Management Division will be newly established within the Robotics Business Unit, and the management functions currently overseen by the Business Planning Division will be transferred to this new department.
– As a result of these changes, the Business Planning Division of the Robotics Business Unit will be dissolved.
– The Unmanned System Business Development Section will be transferred to the Aero Solutions Division under the New Business Development Section of the Corporate Strategy Center.
